He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Lee Griffin; his parents, Lev Griffin and Mattie Griffin; his children, Theresa Williams and Ricky Griffin; and his grandson Bahati Griffin.
He is survived by: his children, Nathaniel Griffin Jr., Gregory Allen Griffin (Deborah), Matilda Christine Griffin (Lorenzo) and Lauvoun Bynoe; his nieces, Carolyn Lavender and Diane Dangefield; and his goddaughters, Michelle Watkins and Dorothy Hunt. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other loving relatives and friends.
