It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Petty (Akron, Ohio), born in Ravenna, Ohio, who passed away on September 30, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jeannie Petty and Everett Petty. He is survived by : his children, Aaron Williams, Tim Petty and Jessica Petty; his granddaughter Laila Petty; his close friend Sandy Gear; his sisters, Sue Bressler (Steve) and Darlene Petty; and his stepsons, Dan Gear (Kimberly) and Nick Gear. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.
