He was predeceased by: his son Sanford Lane Jr.; his siblings, James Earl, John Henry and Virgie Coleman; his wife Mable Farrior; his children-in-law, Lane T. Knight Sr. and Nancy Lane; and his grandson Brian Knight.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Knight of Munroe Falls, OH, Brenda Payne of Tucson, Sharon Lewis (Joseph) of Akron, Allan Lane of Atlanta, GA, Myron Lane (Lois) of Dayton, OH, Wilford Lane of Akron, OH and Reginald Lane (Irma) of Raleigh, NC; and his sister Lavada Howard of South Bend, Indiana. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
