He was predeceased by : his parents, Alva M. Delaney and Mary E. Ziegler Delaney; his wife Patricia L. Zinn Delaney; his son Steve Delaney; and his siblings, Alva "Junior" Delaney, Virginia Reeves, Martha and Hess.

He is survived by : his daughter Debra Gibson of Radcliff. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, and 1 great- grandchild.
