She was predeceased by: her father Leo Evers; her husband Glenn S. Higgins; her former husband James H. Smith; her mother Cleoda Mae Evers-Moulin (Villars); her stepfather Arthur C. Moulin; her son-in-law Ron A. Herderick; her brother Vernon L. Evers; and her niece Elizabeth Evers.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Higgins (Val) of Alliance, Mark Higgins (Tracy) of Sebring, Donna Schlarb-Herderick of Alliance and Lynette Kester (David) of Beloit; her grandchildren, Stacy Bettis (Lucas), Jeremy Schlarb (Jill), Matthew Schlarb (Erin), Michael Higgins Jr., Abby Schlarb, Anthony Higgins (Katie), David Kester, Caleb Higgins, Elisabeth Higgins, Gabriel Higgins and Isabella Higgins; and her great grandchildren, Jakob Krug, Wyatt Bettis, Kali Bettis, Ben Schlarb, Drew Schlarb, Faith Schlarb, Adam Schlarb, Ian Schlarb and Anna Schlarb. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
