He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl E. McAlister and Gladys McAlister (Miller); his wife Rose F. McAlister; and his siblings, Carl, Wayne McAlister, Wilma Hufford and Margaret Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia McAlister, James McAlister (Melisha) and David McAlister (Janet); and his grandchildren, Michael McAlister (Shelly), Douglas McAlister (Aubrey), Ann Bossert (David) and Jessica Francis (Eric). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
