He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Kerns and Madolyn Kerns; his children, Amber Lynn Kerns, Aaron Robert Kerns and Adam Ryan Kerns; and his sister Debra.
He is survived by: his children, Kristen A. Kerns (Tre Cline) of Alliance, Levi D. V. Kerns of Alliance, Luke M. Kerns (Danielle) of Alliance and Jonathan I. Kerns of Alliance; his grandchildren, Karson R. Cline and Kallie M. Kerns; and his siblings, James "Michael", Greg, Lisa, Marybeth, Rosella and Connie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
