He is survived by: his close friend Susan Hines; his daughters, Stacey Shank, Stephanie Burson and Shannon Hudachek; his siblings, Juanita Burson, Merry Braden, Mark Burson and Dino Burson; his grandchildren, Keri Isenberg, James Dowdy, Sebastian Hudachek, Adam Hudachek and Devin Hudachek; and his great grandchildren, James Dowdy IV, Treyce Dowdy, Pepper Dowdy, Marlie Hudachek, Willow Hudachek, Kadie Bailey and Morgan Bailey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
