He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Cheryl Scherf (Kevin Ramsey) and David (Maria); his grandchildren, Todd Scherf, Zachary (Bianca) and Marissa (Nehemia Hicks); his great grandchildren, Broadie O. J. Scherf, Ezra J. Hicks and Esmeralda Evalynn; his siblings, Melvin, Donald, MaryAnn Vanswearingen and Thomas (Rose); his close friend Sandy Claypool; and also Lenora Jenkins.
