He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Buhn and Sophia Buhn (Csaki); and his brothers, Martin Jr., Carl and William.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Buhn (Brunori); his children, Carla Sturm (Jeff) of Massillon and David A. Buhn (Jennifer) of Westerville; and his granddaughter Taylor Sturm. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
