He was predeceased by: his father Harley Nichols; his former wife Janice Nichols (Rhoads); his wife Sandra Kay Nichols; his grandchildren, Carly Ann Marie Nichols and Bryan M. Smith; his great grandchild Chancellor N. Middleton; his stepfather Ray Harris; his mother Verna Nichols-Harris (Maloney); and his siblings, Ruth, Bonnie, Edith and Corwin "Butch".
He is survived by: his children, Dina Smith of Alliance, Darrell "Scott" Nichols of Alliance and William "Bill" Nichols of Alliance; and his stepchildren, Debbie Pattison (John) of Marion, IN, Mary Fode (Steven) of Upland, IN and Richard Treber Jr. (Karla) of Sweester, IN. He is also survived by five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the choice of the donor.
