He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Johnson and Gertrude Johnson; his brother Darrell Johnson; and his grandson Steven Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Rose Wilson Johnson; his children, Rich Johnson (Jennie), Cathi DeBurger (Duke) of Cincinnati, Greg Johnson (Crystal) of Fairview Beach, VA and Gary Johnson (Chrissy) of Maryville, TN; his grandchildren, Sara Cloyd (Justin), Mark Johnson, Marissa Johnson, Sean DeBurger and Xander Johnson; his great grandchild Teagan Cloyd; and his siblings, Jim Johnson of Beaumont, CA, Phyllis Johnson of Red Wing, MN and Audrine Johnson of Cloquet, MN.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
