With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Raymond Pope Sr. of Amherst, Ohio, born in Vossburg, Mississippi, who passed away on September 1, 2020 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Raymond Pope Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Herndon; his grandson Joshua Koler; and his siblings, Louise Cochran, J. E., Carey and Billy Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Hutchens (late Mack) of Easley, S. C., Joy Zickefoose of Lorain, Raymond, Jr. (Tammy) of Moore Haven, FL and Kaye Koler (Jim) of Amherst. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great -great-grandchildren.
By family request and COVID restrictions, a private, family-only graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Arlen Vernava at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
