She was predeceased by: her parents, Renn Messick and Rachel Eller Messick; her husband Dominic Mourie; and her brother Hoit Messick of Boomer, NC.. She is survived by: her sisters, Jeanette M. Haynes of North Wilkesboro, NC and Kaye M. Welborn of Wilkesboro, NC; and her siblings' children, Linda J. Messick of Boone, NC, Catherine Messick of Boomer, NC, Tamara W. Bryant of Millers Creek, NC and Richard Welborn (Angie) of Millers Creek, NC. She is also survived by several great-nephews and one great-great-nephew.
