He was predeceased by: his wife Dr. Harriet Tong; his parents, King Yuan Tong and Yao Kwun Tong; his siblings, Keng Kai Shou Tong, Li Jen Tong, Met Jen Tong, Wei Jen Tong and Bei Jen Tong; and his son-in-law Charles Bennett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Marcus (Ivan), Maria Tong and Victoria Tong (Andy Van Fossen); his grandchildren, Jaana Niinisto, Aleksis Niinisto, Jessica Strait (Caleb) and Diana Bennett; his nephew Kenneth Tong (Evelyn); and his nieces, Gene Cary (Douglas) and Irene Tuddenham.
