It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Baker (Athens, Ohio), who passed away on January 11, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Christopher Brooks and Ethel Perry Brooks; her siblings, Robert Brooks (Bob) and Addie Gould; her son Barney Baker Sr.; her siblings' children, David Gould, Alfred Lee Brooks, Jerry W. Scurlock and Martha Coakley; and her significant other Fred Sager.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Baker of Athens and Mary Ann Davis (Ralph) of Nelsonville; her siblings, Alfred Barney Brooks of Athens, Martha Coakley (Bill) of Logan, Ella Holley of Athens and Lou Ella Savage of Athens; and her close friend Cheryl Gabriel Russell. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
