It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Lanning (Athens, Ohio), born in Nelsonville, Ohio, who passed away on September 17, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gus Wachenschwanz and Bertha Mae Tolliver Wachenschwanz; and her siblings, Barbara Lou Wachenschwanz, Freddie, Howard, Charles, Robert, Sylvester and William Wachenschwanz.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph D. "Joe" Lanning; her children, Judith Lanning of Logan, Anita Alloway of The Plains and Ronald Lanning of Lexington, KY; her grandchildren, Scott Adkins (Ruth) of Virginia, Debra Adkins of Athens, Sarah Eberts (Greg) of Athens and Joshua Alloway (Tricia) of Richwood; and her sister-in-law Ida Wachenschwanz of Millfield. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Due to the Coronavirus COVID 19 pandemic, family and friends are asked to wear a face covering and observe social distancing at the service.
