He was predeceased by: his parent Frank W.; his wife Alice Leavitt Cottrill; his son David; and his siblings, Paul Cottrill, Shirley West, Minnie Wiseman and Beverly Hamons.

He is survived by: his parent May Pendleton Cottrill; his sister Pauline Holliday of Albany; his sister-in-law Eleanor Foster (Paul); and his close friends, Debbie Mullins (Terry), Whitney Eisinger (Justin), Caitlyn Mullins and Brandon Mullins.
