He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Covell and Gladys Covell (Barnum); his brother Carl; and his children, Ricky McElroy, Annette McElroy and Regan Covell.
He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Andy Covell of Texas, Matt Covell of Saybrook, Abby Covell of Mentor, Peggy Pekarski of Rock Creek, Jamey Covell of Painesville and April Covell-Ockington of Florida; and his brother David Covell of Ashtabula. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
