He was predeceased by : his parents, Myrtle Hale and Elbert Hale; his wife Mary G. Buchanan; his great grandchild Nikky Townsend; and his siblings, Elizabeth Holbert (Lib), Lillian Gates (Babe), Leana Eaton, Mary McPeek, Doris Moyers, Georgia Wilson (Pete), Walter and John Hale.

He is survived by : his children, Jerry Hale (Lynn) of San Ramon, CA, Leonard Hale (Anita) of Barlow, Dianna Cowman (James) of Coolville and Jewell Hale of Barlow; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Hale, Rebecca Kent, Donald Hale and Amber Lauer. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
