She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Lloyd and Annie Kate Lloyd; her husband Samuel Smedley; her son Lawrence Denis Smedley; and her siblings, Jack Lloyd, Howard Lloyd, Daniel Lloyd, Roosevelt Lloyd, Cornelius Lloyd, Annie Mae and Georgia Evans.
She is survived by: her daughter Laura Denise Smedley-Mbongo; her sister Dorothy Mae; and her grandchildren, Lawrence Rayshawn Smedley, Leilani Smedley and Cheyenne Smedley. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
