He was predeceased by : his former life partner Audrienne Kerr; his children, Charles "Chuck" R. Kerr and Kimberly E. Kerr; his parents, Edward Kerr and Audye Kerr; his uncle Charles; and his aunt Iva Kerr.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Karen Kerr; his stepchildren, Eugene Thomas of Washington, Melissa Lewis of Collins and Jason Thomas of Vermilion; his grandchildren, Robert A. Kerr, Phylicia Hoops, Samuel Lewis, Jackson Thomas, Lauren Thomas, Caitlin Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Cara Thomas and Genevive Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Zachariah, Ezekiel, Levi and Luke.
