He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hower and Clara Hower (Schwartz); his spouse A. Jean Roark Hower; his great grandchild Whitlee Jane Hughes; and his siblings, Herbert Hower, Marjorie Perry and Marie Kester.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cathy Patton of Marysville, Beth A. Hower-Brown (Lawrence) of Delphos and Paula R. Hughes (Douglas) of Harrod; and his grandchildren, Allison Myers (Jerry), Adam Austin, Alexandria Brown (Eric Buescher), Hayden Brown, Nicole Bailey (Mike) and Zachary Hughes (Danielle). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
