He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Smith and Mildred Smith (Gillespie). He is survived by: his wife Mary Rosella Smith (Shulaw); his son Samuel "Douglas" Smith (Susie) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Hannah Slater (Kevin) and Samuel Smith; his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Landon, Elliott, Norah and Ingrid; and his siblings, Ronald Smith (Joy), Gerry Smith (Rita), Bonnie Gould (Bud) and Joan Lafferty. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
