He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray "Duke" and Alice Faye Hilyard (Kelsey); his son Jeffrey; and his brother-in-law John Shannon. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Hilyard (Doh); his sons, Chris (Barbara Garner) and Brian Hilyard (Kris); his granddaughters, Abigail Sigal (Jake), Alisha Emmert (Darren) and Brianna Hilyard; his great grandchildren, Madelyn and Makenzie Emmert; his sister Ona Bell "Babe" Shannon; and his nephews, David and Michael Shannon (Linda).
