He is survived by: his children, Shawn Szydlyk (Noelle) of Indianapolis and Kara Rodgers (Matthew) of Galloway, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jacob, Charley Szydlyk, David, Sydney Thress, Jake and Alex Rodgers; his sister Eileen Muckler (Paul); and his cousins, Judy Parnau (Michael) and Mitzi James (Dick).
His family specifically requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made payable to Shriners Childrens Hospital, Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org).
