He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank B. Metzger and Olivia C. Metzger (Schlachter); his siblings, Francis "Fritz" Metzger, Cyril Metzger, Lucy Flechtner, Marsha Gerber, Gertrude Hess and Betty Metzger; and his great grandchildren, Rogan and Brody Neville.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Metzger of Carey; his children, Mike Metzger (Carmen) of New Riegel, Betty Fredritz (Gary) of Carey, Jane Atkins (Kenneth Wall) of Forest and Carol Brickner (Dennis) of Tiffin; and his siblings, Jack Metzger (Carolyn) of Toledo, Theresa Schindler (Raymond) of Harrison, Rita DeRose of Tiffin, Rosanna "Nan" Hohman of Vermillion and Donna Durbin of Sandusky. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
