She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Gibbs and L. T. Gibbs; her children, Thomas Gibbs and Christina Scherzer; and her siblings, Jerry Gibbs and Christine Irwin.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert C. Scherzer; her husband Carl Trego; her daughters, Derlene Bringle (Randy) and Litonya Garner (Joseph); her daughter-in-law Kristin Gibbs; and her brother Robert Gibbs. She is also survived by grandchildren (15) and great-grandchildren.
The family insists that people make donations to Lung Cancer Research, in lieu of sending flowers.
