He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard M. "Cap" and Gladys Lauerman Whitten; his daughter Pamela Whitten; and his siblings, David, Dwight Whitten, Agnes Riley, Anne Whitten, Jane Whitten, Lois List and Janis Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen Egan; his children, Jeff Whitten (Jennie) of Chillicothe, Theresa Fawley (Mark) of Chillicothe and Tonya Bell (Tim) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Sawyer, Savannah, Taylour, Tami, Justin, Chad, Devon, Stephanie, Kristina, Travis, Dylan and Cale; his brother William Whitten of Dallas, TX; and his brother-in-law Michael Egan of Naples, FL.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
