He was predeceased by: his sibling Larry Abney; and his parents, George Abney and Lillian Abney. He is survived by: his children, Sheila K. Hicks (Joe) of Cincinnati, Lisa M. Abney of Cincinnati and Jennifer L. Thomas (Joseph) of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Avery, Nicholas, Xavier, Jayla, Kaitlyn, Joslyn, Khloe, Joseph Jr., William, Sophia and Evelyn; and his siblings, Vonda Abney of Cincinnati and Bruce Abney of Chatsworth, IL.
