He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Woodson Sr. and Lillie Mae Copeland Woodson; his daughters, Trina Woodson, Cassandra Woodson and Cassondra Woodson; his grandson Julian J. Woodson; and his siblings, Mannie Johnson, Clarence Johnson, Bert Woodson, Lillie B. Johnson, Georgia Wilson and Ruby Lee Jackson.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy M. Woodson; his children, Johnny Woodson Jr., Sikma Woodson, Rita Woodson of Cleveland, OH., Pamela Woodson of Cleveland, OH., Cherie Boyer (Larry) of Cleveland, OH., Vandlyn Woodson of Cleveland, OH., Seconda Campbell (Cornell) of Cleveland, OH. and Jasmen Woodson of Cleveland, OH.; his granddaughter Nancy K. Woodson; and his siblings, Roberta Stamps, Alberta Wildee, Zelma Woodson, Doris Lee (Eddie), Juanita Byrd, Joe Woodson of Vicksburg, MS and Patrick Woodson of Vicksburg, MS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws and close friends.
