She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Essel and Mary Essel; her brothers, Leroy Essel and Donald Essel; and her son-in-law Robert Stephen.
She is survived by: her husband John; and her children, William J. Balmat (Deborah), Sue Stephen, Timothy J. Balmat (Melanie) and JoAnn Bacnik (Michael). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
