She was predeceased by : her parents, Freeman Samsal and Edna F. Samsal (Kohli); her husband Fred M. Downing; her siblings, Gerald Samsal (Mary Charlotte), John Samsal (Mae), Lloyd Samsal (Geneva), Alice Sommers (Kenneth) and Dorothy Jones Moore; and her brothers-in-law, Medway Jones and Lowell Moore.

She is survived by : her children, Gary Downing (Kay) of Columbus Grove and Beverly Auchmuty (Rolland) of Columbus Grove. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
