She was predeceased by: her parents, Furman J. Carpenter Sr. and Nellie Logan Carpenter; her brothers, Willie Carpenter, Furman J. Carpenter Jr., Andrew Carpenter (Lank) and Columbus Carpenter (Dan); her aunt Lillian; and her uncle Jacob Carpenter.
She is survived by: her sons, Jason Mills (Mia) of Columbus, Matthew Mills of Columbus and Simon Mills (Barbara) of Columbus; her sisters, Ineta Carpenter of Shelby, NC, Rosetta Wilson of Greensboro, NC and Lois Martin of Forest City, NC.; and her grandchildren, Jovaan Mills (Ashley), Jarell Mills, Kayla Murphy (Xavier), Cameron Savage and Kevin Tucker II. She is also survived by other relatives and friends including special friends the "Thomas" sisters.
