He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Edward and Ophelia Young; his parents, Valley Young and Jessie Young; his siblings, Valley Young Jr., Robert James Young, Theresa Prince and Mary Rice Theresa Williams; and his niece Peggy Day.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Carson Sr. (LaFonda) and Tomiko Johnson (Laurence); and his grandchildren, Brandice Stanley, Shandos Young, Laurence Johnson Jr. and Lauren Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
