He was predeceased by: his parents, C. C. Whipps and Ida Mae Whipps; his wife Emma Jean Whipps (Morgan); his grandchildren, Peggy Moats and JC Moats; and his son-in-law Al Laszlo.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Whipps (JoAnn), Carla Shadwick (Phillip), Peggy Montgomery (Bill), Sandy Laszlo and Stephanie Moats (Jim). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
