He was predeceased by: his parents, William Canny and Etta Opal Lucky; and his sister Donna Josephine Waldo (Canny). He is survived by: his wife Patricia L. Canny; and his children, Michael Canny (Cathy), Charles Jeffrey Canny and Tina Canny. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
