He was predeceased by: his sisters, Sophie and Margaret. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Barbara (Rick), Michael, John (Jean) and Nancy (Todd); his grandchildren, Jacob (Katie), Anna, Mark, Tanner and Blake; his great grandchildren, Niklas, William and Emily; and his nephew Marvin (Karen).

In memory of Clarence memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
