He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nichols and Jessie Sephfus Nichols; his stepfather Robert Ramsey; and his siblings, LeRoy, Gene, Butch Nichols, Carol Norman and Saundra Viney.
He is survived by: his wife Lola Hill Nichols; his children, Terry Nichols of Columbus, Troy Nichols (Clydett) of Columbus, Kevin Nichols of Columbus, Clifford Nichols Jr. of Columbus, Kristina Nichols Sykes of Columbus and Tracey Nichols of Columbus; his sisters, Shirley Norman (William) of Zanesville, Malenda Lucas (Alan) of Amesville and Gloria Piers (Butch) of Chesterhill; and his parents-in-law, Delores Nichols of Malta, Patricia Norman (Richard) of Columbus, Tommy Hill of Columbus, James Hill of Columbus, Frances Hill of Columbus and Louise Carr of Columbus. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
