It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Darrell Lamont Jumper (Columbus, Ohio), born in Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Julia Jumper and Berley Geiger, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Daryl Jumper, Jr.; his brothers, Rodney Jumper (Patti Clark) and Marcus Geiger (Latrena); his cousins, Donna Rispress (Larry), Larry Jumper, Debra Manns and Tina Calloway; his stepmother Myrna Geiger; and his aunts and uncles, Beverly Geiger, Rose McCoy, Connie Beach, Harry Geiger and Marvin Geiger. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his close friends.
He died unexpectedly on January 2, 2021 after suffering a Covid19 related stroke.
Darrell immersed himself in a variety of styles from jazz, rock, soul, and funk and used the Blues as his foundation.
