He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Downing and Elsie Downing (Callahan); his aunt Marge Smith; and his uncle Ben Callahan. He is survived by: his wife Darlene R. Downing (Crabtree); his son Dustin Downing of Ashville; and his grandchildren, Jillian and Justin Downing of South Bloomfield.
