He was predeceased by: his parents, McHenry Holmes and Agnes Woody. He is survived by: his children, Wayne Holmes and Michelle Holmes; his stepchildren, Cherokee Alexander of Columbus, Brian Alexander of Columbus and Kym Minter of Columbus; and his close friend Clarence Roquemore. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren; brothers, sisters.
