He was predeceased by: his mothers, Jane Nancy Pruitt Horton and Joyce McIntyre Horton; his son Billy Horton; and his siblings, Glenn, Harley, James, Delmer, Joe, Israel Horton, Ruth Belue, Lucille Durham, Monie Jackson, Gladys Hutcherson and Annie Whiteside.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis L. Horton (Sara) and Deanna H. Hardin (Steve); his brother John Horton; his grandchildren, Erin McNeill (Chad), Justin Horton (Victoria), Jared Horton (Sara), Holly Horton, Emily Hardin, Leah Hardin and Trey Staton (Rachel); and his great grandchildren, Kaydence Wilkey, Anslee McNeill, Addi McNeill, Lane Horton, Layla Horton and Nola Staton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upstate Community Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
