It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy J. Mudgett of Columbus, Ohio, born in Adrian, Michigan, who passed away on July 24, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ormond B. Hermes and Venus Schettleroe Hermes. She is survived by: her husband Patrick Walter Mudgett; her grandson Michael Mudgett; her siblings, Richard Hermes, Jeanette (Paul Deline) and Mary Patricia "Patsy" (Jack Germond); her brother-in-law Arnold Droste; her children, Jeanne Green (Ed) of Columbus, Carole Drake (Stephen) of Petoskey, Patrick Mudgett, Jr. of Marysville and Gail Mullinger (Steven) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Brian Green (Nicole), Kevin Green (Emily), Tyler Drake, Neil Drake (Katy Lucas), Ross Drake (Rachelle), Leah Ridgway (John), Nicholas Mudgett, Michelle Mudgett, Megan Lehmkuhl (Drew), Molly Mullinger, Mary-Kate Wintz (Adam), Malorie Butz (Brian), Patrick Mullinger and Madison Mullinger; her great grandchildren, J. Parker Green, Henry Drake, Reid, Graham, Banks Ridgway, Margo, Grant Lehmkuhl and Leo Fischer (Mudgett); her sister Joyce Droste of Detroit; and her siblings-in-law, Michael and Helen Mudgett of Minneapolis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Due to the current pandemic, a private interment will be held later at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville.
Dorothy, an active member of the community, was a founding trustee for the Union County Foundation, served on the board of trustees for Memorial Hospital, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
