He was predeceased by: his parents, Fridrich Carstensen and Emma Carstensen (Dalhoefer). He is survived by: his wife Ursula G. Carstensen (Pflug); his daughters, Dagmar Carstensen, Joan Carstensen (John Aber) and Ingrid Carstensen; and his granddaughter Eliza Aber.
