With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ellen M. Griffin in Columbus, Ohio, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on December 16, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Poulson and Florence Poulson; her husband Robert Griffin (Bob); and her pet Marty. She is survived by: her children, Bob Griffin (Rita), Connie Cardenell, Carol Pierce (Doug), Dan Griffin (Leslie) and Joe Griffin (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Katie Meisner (Joe), Jack Griffin (Alicia), Michael Griffin (Carly), Heather Veith (Nathan), Kevin Cardenell (Angie), Kelly Howley (Duane), Lindsey, Griffin Pierce, Adam Pierce, Brian Griffin (Leslie), Megan Lemmon (Andrew), Sarah Griffin and Kate Griffin; her sister Marianne Gorda of Springfield; her children, Suzy Carnes and Cindy Gorda; her brother-in-law Ken Griffin (Donna); and her nieces and nephews, Tim Griffin (Joanie), Kim Griffin, Mike Griffin and Kelly Powell (Gene).
Due to COVID concerns, the family respectfully requests that the visitation, funeral mass, and burial will be for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be directed in Ellen's name to her favorite causes, the Columbus Humane or Charity Newsies.
