He was predeceased by: his mother Angeline DeLong McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Ida Bell DeLong; his sons, Emery N. DeLong Jr. (Donna) of Raeford, NC, Mitchell C. DeLong of Wakulla County, FL and Shawn D. DeLong (Grace) of Wakulla County, FL; and his brother Andrew DeLong (Gail) of Medford, OH.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
