She is survived by: her parents, Benjamin Newcomer Bird and Anne Warren Jackson Bird; her brothers, Jackson Bird, Benjamin Lee Bird and Frederic Higginson Bird; her wife Elinor Dodge Miller; her children, Rob Ackerman (Carol Weston) of New York City, Lisa Jeffrey of Virginia Beach, Virginia Ackerman and Sarah Gene Ackerman (Aden Evens) of Hanover; her grandchildren, Lizzi (Matt LaCasse), Emme Ackerman, Sarah, Robert, Jackson Jeffrey, Felix Ackerman and Jules Evens; her spouse Ralph Waldo Emerson; and also, Episcopalian and Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to School for Young Children or the Columbus Zoo, 4850 Powell Rd, Powell, OH 43065, in her memory.
