He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion C. Sims and Jeanette "Cookie" Sims-Allen (Martin); and his siblings, Annette Johnson and Larry Sims. He is survived by: his friend Robert; his wife Cecelia; his children, Gary Christopher Sims (Dawn) of Athens, OH and Dana Sims (Mark Wilder); his sister Gail Gaskins (William) of Atlanta, GA; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Sims of Springfield, OH and Herb Johnson of San Antonio, TX; his cousin Barbara Henry of Springfield, OH; and his mother-in-law Ida Sutton of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by other relatives and close family friends.
