He was predeceased by: his wife Delores Timko Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Marian, Polly Sipes and Suzanne; his granddaughter Maria Sipes; his sons-in-law, Paul Sipes and Michael McGuinness; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Temborius. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
